April is right around the corner, which means Iowa’s and Missouri’s spring turkey hunting seasons are almost here. Centerville, Iowa has been recognized as one of the top towns for hunting and fishing in the nation. So, it makes perfect sense to make The Continental Hotel your hunting home base!

Every year, The Continental Hotel hosts turkey hunters in the spring and fall seasons and deer hunters in the fall and winter. We are proud that a number of hunters stay with us year after year, making their stay with us part of their annual tradition.

These hunters might not agree on their favorite species to hunt or if they prefer archery, muzzleloader, or shotgun. But they all agree that nothing compares to coming back to a clean, warm room after some time in the great outdoors. And there is no place better to celebrate a successful hunt (or, commiserate about the one that got away) than at the bar at Lucile’s Steaks and Spirits.

The Continental Hotel is in Appanoose County, which has a number of public hunting grounds and nearby meat lockers. And it is centrally located near quality hunting grounds throughout southern Iowa and northern Missouri.

Depending on where you plan to hunt, be sure to visit the Iowa Department of Natural Resources' or the Missouri Department of Conservation's websites for information on hunting laws, licensing rules and requirements, methods of take, hunter education and safety, harvest reporting requirements, and more.
